Mrs. Kauffman
Welcome to Ducketts Lane Elementary School! My name is Mrs. Kauffman. I was born in Pennsylvania, but also lived in Baltimore for several years. I spent 15 years in Hong Kong, China with my husband and two children. During that time I was immersed in Chinese culture, learned to speak Cantonese, and taught English. Six years ago I moved to Howard County and, after completing a Master’s program in Teaching English as a Second Language, began teaching in Howard County schools. I have a daughter and son who attend the University of Maryland. In my spare time I enjoy reading, cooking, and cheering for the O’s! I look forward to an exciting year of learning at Ducketts Lane ES!

Mrs. Freedman
Hi everyone! My name is Pam Freedman, and I’m pleased to join the ESOL team at Ducketts Lane Elementary School this year! This is my seventh year as an ESOL teacher in Howard County, and I have enjoyed working with students from Kindergarten-fifth grade. Previously, I worked in Carroll County as an ESOL tutor for all grades K-12. I have a Masters Degree in ESOL from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and a Bachelors Degree in Spanish from McDaniel College. Ever since I was little, I have wanted to work with people from other cultures. In my own time, I love traveling, cooking, and being by the water with my family. |
Mrs. Coyle
Hi! My name is Mrs. Suzanne Coyle and I am a Paraeducator in ESOL. I am honored to have the opportunity to work with your children at Ducketts Lane Elementary. I have lived in Maryland all my life and graduated from Towson State University. My husband and I have lived in Howard County for 21 years. We have three children between the ages of 15 and 10 who attend Howard County Public Schools. I was a stay at home mom for ten years until I became a substitute teacher. After substitute teaching for a year in the Howard County Public School System, I started working as a Teacher Assistant with 3 year olds in a MINC-T classroom at Ilchester Elementary. I loved teaching them and witnessing their growth as early learners. Last year, I had the pleasure of working as a Paraeducator in Kindergarten at Bellows Spring Elementary. These experiences have encouraged me to pursue a Masters in Early Childhood Education in the near future. In my free time, I enjoy cheering for my children at their various sporting events, volunteering at their schools, spending time with my family at the beach, and playing with my two spoiled dogs, Daisy and Toby. I am looking forward to this amazing experience in ESOL at Ducketts Lane.
